AKSHAYA - Creation of a Knowledge Society

In way back 2002 ,the Government of Kerala thoughtfully brought a well conceptualized idea that was simple enough to cut across the barriers of the society, culture and language to bridge the digital divide and bring home the benefits of Information technology to the common man. The success of Akshaya by making a living out of social entrepreneurship is world known and up keeping this success makes Akshaya very unique.

Akshaya which started in Malappuram district of Kerala with over 600 Akshaya Centers has come a long way. During the course, Akshaya learned many lessons to thrive and grow in a step by step manner by creating a ubiquitous statewide network of over 2,621+ successful Micro Enterprises. Akshaya is carrying out its task successfully and have now embarked on taking its mission to the next level, namely, proactively take the services closer to the citizen.

While treading into 14 years of successful existence, Akshaya realizes its importance to contemplate various measures to sustain this. It has always innovative and put collective effort to remain at the forefront in serving common man. The simple formula to maintain the pace is its adaptability to adjust to emerging needs of the society.

A smart turm through e-literacy to e-governance

Differing from the usual filing of online application or data entry ,Akshaya has also succeeded in catering services qualitatively that require varied skill set namely e-District services , UID Enrolment, live webcasting of election etc. to strengthen the e-governance initiatives of the state. Now it has stepped into new area viz. banking kiosk and marketing of insurance product.
